1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GateMail ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users of gatemail.co and the GateMail application.

2. Description of Service

GateMail is an email filtering service that intercepts incoming emails from unknown senders and challenges them to verify legitimacy. We integrate with Gmail (via Google API) and Outlook (via Microsoft API) to manage filtering on your behalf based on rules you configure.

3. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use GateMail to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service.
• Use the Service in any manner that could harm, disable, or impair the Service.
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or entity.

5. Payment and Billing

GateMail is offered on a subscription basis. By subscribing:

• You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Your payment information is subject to Stripe's privacy policy.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and content, is owned by GateMail and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission. Your data remains yours — we claim no ownership over your emails or filtering configurations.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that all emails will be correctly filtered. Email filtering involves inherent uncertainty, and some legitimate emails may be challenged or blocked.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GateMail shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to missed emails, lost business, or data loss. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to other users or the Service. You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and contacting us to request data deletion.

10. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
